World Magnetic Tour

Metallica embarked on their World Magnetic Tour back in October 2008 and after over 30 gigs across the United States they are continuing with several concerts across Europe until the end of July 2009. They’ve always been a great live band and so it should come as no surprise that virtually all their gigs have sold out. In fact if you are desperate to see them on this tour and you haven’t got a ticket yet you are running out of time. The only remaining dates which haven’t yet sold out are the Novarock festival in Austria on June the 19th and Rock Werchter in Belgium on July the 5th.

If you are looking for tickets then check these links Novarock Festival and Rock Werchter. By the way the Rock Werchter tickets don’t go on sale until February the 14th.

Reports from the US gigs suggest that the aging band can still put on a great show and as usual they have impressive stage props and all sorts of pyrotechnic effects. Apart from the laser shows and fireballs there will be some great music, Metallica are easily one of the best bands I’ve ever seen live and they always send the fans home happy.

The set list may vary a little but the first few gigs all featured old favourites Sad But True, One, Master of Puppets, Seek and Destroy, Enter Sandman and The Four Horsemen. From the new album Death Magnetic you can expect to hear That Was Just Your Life, The End of the Line, Broken, Beat and Scarred, Cyanide and The Day That Never Comes.

Various support acts are opening for them including The Sword, Down, Lamb of God, Machine Head and Mastodon.
