The good news for gamers who are also Metallica fans is that Guitar Hero: Metallica is due to be released early this year. This is an entire Metallica themed Guitar Hero game which will allow fans to play along with a number of Metallica hits as well as some of their favourite tracks. The game is due to be released on PS2, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360.
Apparently they agreed to do the game after the children of James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich got really into Guitar Hero and began to discover classic rock bands. Metallica figured it would be a good way to bring their music to a new generation of fans. The band performed in order to allow the developers to motion capture their on-stage movements and animate the in-game models accordingly. There is also a host of content related to the band within the game including photos, video clips and trivia.
Guitar Hero: Metallica will be a full band game so fans can get together and play guitar, bass, drum and vocal parts. There are going to be 45 songs in the game in total, 28 by Metallica and 17 chosen by the band as their personal favourites.
